Ellie Wood Page Keith Baxter is a classic Virginia horsewoman who became a prolific show hunter rider partnering numerous champions across the northwest. In 1936 she won the coveted ASPCA MacLay Trophy and on four occasions captured the Piedmont Hunt Invitational at the Upperville Horse Show. Ellie Wood was considered the most famous lady amateur from the mid 1930′s to mid ’60′s. A lifelong foxhunter she first carried the Whip for the Farmington Hunt Club in her ’30′s. Ellie Wood was inducted into the Upperville Horse Show Hall of Fame and American and Virginia Horse Show Association Hunter Hall of Fame. In 2003 she was awarded the prestigious Pegasus Award for her lifelong contribution to the horse show industry. Art Uytendaal is a Dutch born Australian Show Jumper from a large family of horsemen and women – his mother gave birth to 21 children. Art became a pioneer for bringing European training methods to Australian riders. He produced countless horses for jumping and eventing and won Australian Championships in 1961, 62, and 67 as well as several Victorian Show Jumping Championships and hundreds of ribbons at both the Royal and other Agricultural Shows. Dawn Palethorpe-Wofford is a British show jumper, Pony Club executive and author. She represented Great Britain on several winning Nations Cup teams, was selected for the 1956 Stockholm Olympics where she met here husband Warren Wofford and the 1960 Rome Olympics. She won the silver medal at the 1960 Ladies European Championship, the Aachen Puissance and the Queen Elizabeth Cup in 1955 and ’56 as well as numerous other national prizes.
